Concert at Higher Grounds Coffee house
November 2 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM
The coffeehouse’s featured perfomers are "Three-Legged Dog," a Falmouth-based group that blends close harmonies, great guitar playing, percussion, and close bonds of friendship. Its members, Wendy Nelson, Pamela Rothstein, and Elias Lieberman have been making music together for over a decade. Sometimes their threesome is joined by percussionist Tony Scalisi, who will participate in this Higher Grounds coffeehouse. Their repertoire draws on the folk scene of the 1960s and 1970s, from Dylan and John Prine to James Taylor and the Beatles, and dips into country, rock and the blues. It also includes covers of contemporary singer-songwriters such as Red Molly, Wailin’ Jennys, and Nickel Creek. For this special benefit, Three-Legged Dog will present dog-themed songs and poetry, too.

Ways you can help support the park
If you bring a dog to the park:
If you want to support the park financially:
- Please make sure to pick up your dog’s poop and dispose of it;
- Be prepared to leave with your dog if it isn’t behaving appropriately;
- Be prepared to leave if someone else won’t leave with their misbehaving dog;
- Pick up a broom and sweep the sidewalk areas;
- Save your newspaper bags and place them in the white sail bag hanging from the fence;
- Use the bags in the sail bag first! They don’t cost anything and work just as well;
- Volunteer to be a steward – it only takes fifteen minutes of your time once or twice a month and you get to pick the days you volunteer each month. (call 508-331-2929 if interested)
If you want to support the park financially:
- If you went on the cruise, thank you as you just helped us pay for all the new sidewalk areas;
- Buy a $10 t-shirt or $20 hat;
- Buy a $20 Nat Geo’s Dog Lover’s Guide to Travel (great for a gift);
- Order a $100 unique tile for our wall to commemorate a special occasion or to honor or remember a special person or pet;

The Concert 2014
Last Sunday, we were treated to a concert at the Higher Grounds Coffee House at the Waquoit Church. Thanks to Reverend Fields for hosting the event, Three Legged Dog for their fine performance, our volunteers for working in the kitchen, and to those of you who came out to support the Falmouth Dog Park.

The Sunset Paws Cruise 2014 was a great success!
The cruise aboard the Island Queen on Saturday, June 14 was a great success. Thanks to our sponsors, Beard Subaru of Hyannis and TDBank. Also, a big "thanks" to the businesses who donated products and services: Signature Studios Spa, Relax and Renew Spa, Mahoneys, Roche Bros., The Island Queen, and Stage Door Canteen. And finally to the 200 guests who came out with us to make this a great evening.
One of our guests posted this description of our cruise.
Threatening clouds parted
as we boarded
the Island Queen.
Treated to a shimmering sunset
as we left the harbor.
Cruise for a cause.
Supporting the Dog Park
surrounded by friends
and music and the beauty
of the water at night.
We cruised through calm waters
and were greeted by
twinkling lights on the
shore of the Vineyard.
Fortunate are we.
People travel from far flung
spots to vacation in
this magical place that
we simply call home.

Spring Cleanup
Thanks to our volunteers Barb S., Carol S., Carol D., Bruce G., Ursula and Larry G., and Frank F., we made great headway on clearing the park of debris from fall and winter. We cleaned the bubblers and benches, removed leaves, and raked the walkway. On Sunday, thanks to the half-dozen volunteers from the Falmouth Jewish Congregation who came to park to rake sand, clean out the shed and wash down two benches. As a result of these hours of clean-up last weekend, we now have a park free of any piles of leaves and weeds, freshly raked and sifted sand pits, moss free benches and sanitized concrete pads and bubblers, a well-swept shed, a completely cleaned and redone kiosk, stone-free sidewalks, filled in holes caused by diggers determined to get to China, and a soon-to-be restored bench for outside the park. he park is looking pretty good!
Lots going on at the Park!
Monday, April 28 The Board of Selectmen will hear about our newest additions, including our Snoopy shed, two new benches and additional paved walkways, the latest additions to the wall of tiles, our inclusion in the National Geographic’s The Dog Lover’s Guide to Travel and end-of-summer book signing, our successful steward program, our involvement with the May 15 Chamber of Commerce After Hours , and our upcoming June 14 Brick Kiln Nursery Day along with the Sunset Paws Cruise.
